UK rebuild rates typically sit between £100 and £250 per metre. Yorkshire and the Peak District tend to come in lower, the Cotswolds higher. The honest answer is that the right number depends on stone type, reclaimable percentage, height, access and your day rate. FastQuote works it out from your photos rather than guessing from a regional average.
A skilled waller usually rebuilds two to three metres of single-skin wall per day. A 20 m rebuild with one waller plus a labourer is typically a 6 to 8 day job — more if the stone is heavily fragmented or access is awkward.
Wall length and height, reclaimable stone percentage, new stone tonnage, day rate, labour days, materials, VAT status, validity window and a quote reference. FastQuote includes all of those by default and lets you edit any line before you send.
No. FastQuote is open to any UK waller. The tool follows measurement and pricing conventions aligned with DSWA practice and we work alongside West Yorkshire wallers, but membership is not required.
Yes. The whole flow is mobile-first — take photos with your phone, edit numbers in the field, send the finished quote. PDF and Word export work the same on phone, tablet and desktop.
The stones UK wallers actually use — sandstone, gritstone, limestone, Yorkstone and slate. Costing adjusts based on the stone you tell it the wall is built from.
The first numbers are a starting point, not a survey. They are good enough to quote from, and every figure is editable so you can correct anything that does not match what you saw on site. Your judgement is the final say.
Every measurement, tonnage figure, materials cost and labour day is editable in the review step. Tweak each line, change the day rate, switch VAT on or off, adjust the contingency, then send.
